Black Lives Matter

Digital Poster, 2020

On May 25, 2020, Minnesota Police Department Officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd, a 46-year-old unarmed Black man, after kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds. The incident sparked a months-long wave of national and international protests against police brutality and related injustices against Black Americans.

Inspired by public voices, I chose to design a statement from Nubian B that resonated and encapsulated the feeling of the time.

“The lasting impression of this impactful piece is a reminder of the power my generation holds.”
